The Workshop
American Heritage Furniture Co. is an independent workshop devoted to the design and construction of early American furniture, built one piece at a time.
Work is grounded in 18th-century methods, including hand-planned surfaces, mortise-and-tenon joinery, wooden pins, and hand-cut dovetails—executed without modern fasteners.
Materials are selected for stability, clarity, and long-term performance, allowing each piece to reflect both historical integrity and refined execution.
Painted work is executed on select maple for a smooth, even finish, while natural finishes are crafted from carefully chosen select cherry boards that emphasize grain without visual distraction.
